Hi, I’m Zoe, and Bailey Huts is my pride and joy.
Nearly 30 years ago, my parents moved to the Ribble Valley, and when visiting, it always felt like coming home. So, in 2022 I decided to move here too. Once I had found the perfect property, the idea for Bailey Huts began to take shape. I had a vision to create a space that reflected my personality, values, and artistic flair-something special, where guests would feel looked after. Like their home from home.
I love nothing more than welcoming guests, making them feel cared for, and adding those little surprises that they will remember long after they have left.
I also had the vision to go beyond just hosting the accommodation, to offer a homemade welcome pack created from my love for cooking. As my guests arrive, they can enjoy a welcome homemade flavoured seasonal gin/liqueur and some of my chocolate praline. Then a breakfast of homemade bread, butter, and one of my fruit jams, even fresh eggs from my own hens.

Everything inside the hut has been thoughtfully chosen or handcrafted. From reclaimed barn wood siding from the US, to locally made window blinds and pottery. Everything outside the hut has not been compromised on design either. I wanted the space to feel tranquil and calm and cosy-a little retreat with enough seclusion to feel like your own bit of countryside. So an English Meadow garden was created with seating strategically placed facing the beautiful view.
More recently, I had the vision to create a wellness space in the garden, inspired by my growing love for wild swimming and cold water therapy. Initially, this was a wood-fired hot tub in it’s own little cabin, cosy enough to use in the deepest winters, but still open to use on a summer’s day. Then came the wood-fired sauna, outdoor shower and cold-plunge bath to complete the collection. It now has everything you could need to fully rest, relax and recover from everyday life.
I think that’s where the development of the space ends, and I can finally sit back and enjoy my guests being able to have the staycations I’ve always dreamed of providing.
It’s always going to be lots of hard work, with changeovers, baking, pre-lights, and the constant marketing, but I love every aspect of it and I wouldn’t change it for the world!
